Can somebody please recommend me a cheap desk docking station with speakers that will support all iPhones from 3GS? My daughter has one at the moment that plays the music fine on the 3GS, but doesnt charge, so I suspect the pins are different.

I bought one of these

Found it brand new but not sealed for £45,originally £100+!

Great product, music was lovely :)

I bought a Philips Fidelio AD7000W when they were £70 back in April, very happy with it. Decided I wanted something that was AirPlay rather than a dock connector. Sounds about as good as can be expected for the money.

I then sold the buggy heap of crap that is the Squeezebox Radio for more than the Philips thing cost, which was a nice bonus.

I've just received my TDK dock and despite it saying it is compatible with 3GS/4/4S it doesnt seem to be. :( It will charge, but not play music.. IOS says it is not supported as well.. So unless Im doing something wrong it is going back and I'll keep looking.. Thanks for the comments above though. :)

I've got a fairly decent iphone 4 and before dock that was only ever used for a holiday. I'd let you have it if you were local. It does charge and it also has volume a track controls.

The TDK let me down (worked only intermittently), so I had to return it.. Which one do you have and would you be interested in selling it? (and posting)

I too have a sony one, dual alarm clock; never missed a beat.. the sound is ok and it automatically switches to buzzer when then ipod is not plugged in.

Most supermarket sells them quite cheap.

tbh it's quite heavy and bulky, I'd imagine it would cost £12-15 to post.

I was about to say, you could probably find something just as good/better for £20 in a supermarket if you look. Especially as they are (sort of) obsolete now.

Mame: No worries.. I bought a Pure Contour 200i Air in the end, seems to work well and includes Airplay so can use it for any IOS device, not just the older units that are supported by the dock.
