Are Spa Days and Similar a tad too generic?

I've had the ubiquitous "I don't want anything", and as usual I've not really got a clue what to get the commander in chief.

She likes massages, spas, etc and I thought it'd be good for her because in her job she does a fair bit of heavy lifting and has a bad back. However is it all a bit to "husband can't think of what to get"-generic?

Also fishing for suggestions *cough*.

Depends, if she'd really appreciate it then it's spot on, if she'd just look at it say oh that's nice and maybe use it sometime in the next 6 years when she finds it in a drawer then yes.

That wouldn't be half as **** as what I've done to my Mrs.

"Tell me what you want by the 20th or you get nothing"

I did exactly this recently, she was a bit "meh" at first, but really enjoyed the day.

Probably has more vigour if you book a his and her's spa day together. That way it's a tad less unimaginative - if indeed it is an unimaginative gift.

Plus, you'll feel like a million dollars afterwards.

I've just paid for my wife to go on a spa day/night in luxury for her birthday...mind you, it's what she wanted so I couldn't fail really. Plus, as her birthday is Christmas Eve I got to do a combined Christmas/Birthday pressie (wouldn't normally) and get a really nice one. She is over the moon. I guess it all depends on the woman and as we don't know your "Commander in Chief" then we can't really help you...but you did say it's what she likes so maybe you've answered your own question?

I read this as "likes sausages, spas etc" which sounded like the best spa day ever but then I realised my mistake and you're right: it's a very generic present to give.

:D. It's ok people, I've got her something special, but also a series of sports massages for her back. I think the pain will stop it being too generic :).

My wife told me she didn't want anything so I did the usual 'hmm she says that but she means she wants something' so whilst out I said is there any perfume or something you want and got a right royal rollocking saying she told me she didn't want anything.

Bloody women, can't win eh?
