5 series for 2 grand or less.

Yeah the trim round the windows/b-pillar. It's usually a matt finish but high gloss looks much nicer imho. It's more common on V8s and standard on M5s. Do check it for bubbling though. It's prone to it and can't be repaired so you have to live with it or replace the parts which isn't cheap. That's the downside to this particular option. If it is in good nick and you get the car I'd say its even worth removing it to clean it out behind and protect it. Then selling it to me for nowt :).

I'm not a fan of grey, but I have to say that one is so clean and unworn it looks good - the best I've seen. When it's old, worn and dirty it can look terrible. If you can live with grey good for you. If you like retrofitting the world's your oyster :)

If you can live with the grey leather & pre facelift steering wheel it looks like a very great example. It needs a set of Style 37's to finish it off but they're easy to pick up.

3k...:) :)

Yeah - just like my Y-reg 2001, that one must have seen the boxes of nice new design steering wheels arriving at the factory just as it drove out with the old one on! :(

And the auto light switches...

Ok so 3k is looking good for this one ?
Steering wheel and wheels dont bother me ........yet :-)
I suppose the retrofit fit bug can bite at any time tho.
These are 280 to tax arent they ?
And realworld mpgs is around 20 ish ?
Dont get me wrong consumption doesnt really bother me as I only do 15 miles a day normally and have experienced low low low mpgs before in the form of a ford :-) just curious

Nah there'd be something wrong with it to get only 20 average. I recently did an experiment to test whether 98 octane gave any economy benefit, so I compared 95 with 98 back to back over 5-6 weeks. For the sake of consistency I drove like a grandma everywhere and it was my normal not-great-for-mpg routine of a short commute, trips to the shop etc etc. Got 27.9 mpg average for both fuels. It wasn't the lack of any difference between the 95 and 98 that surprised me - it was the number - 28 mpg for that kind of use from an auto!! Amazing what driving like a grandma can do. My usual long term average is more like 24, but that includes plenty of lead-foot driving. On a long cruising trip 35 mpg is easily obtainable even in the auto. Fox gets a bit better in his manual.

You think that's bad, what about mine, registered last week in December but no autolights or revised wheel :p fixed the wheel mind.

Honestly I wouldnt have expected those mpgs.
Thats really good imo.
Even my dads 1.8 astra auto only gets 25ish and hes 70 and does drive like a grandpa.

Heavy traffic you're looking at low-mid 20s surely. On a motorway cruise at the height of summer I've seen 38 but thats going off the OBC.

I've averaged 27.9 over the last few months combined.

Very dissapointed to say I missed out on the silver 530i sport I linked to. By the time I called to arrange to view a deposit had already been placed. Not surprising I think due to the milage history etc.
So now looking for another potential and have cash waiting. Obviously now I have seen that one for 3 grand I wants me a sport with good history etc. Budget is flexible so if any of you guys come across one please drop a link in here , I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks in advance :-)
