Have I missed something...rather than nearly wreck the thing dragging it back up the hill, could they not have rolled it slowly down to next stretch of road below?
Its steeper than it looks in the video, and the ground is soft....but still may have been better than dragging the car in the way that they did.
I've been there myself (A4069), its a nice stretch of road but not entirely sure why it gets the cult status it does, I expect its more the photo opportunity of the parking spot just above the hairpin where the Civic goes off that people love. Its bumpy, narrow in places, badly sighted and pretty unforgiving - downhill from that hairpin it gets very tight and twisty indeed and there are some nasty rocks at the side of the road if you get it wrong.
The width makes it hard to properly 'push on' unless you are in a properly small car, there are far more fun roads in the Brecons if you have something larger or faster, or want a more flowing drive to enjoy.
