Just thinking about this as there are many that imo would be EPIC turned into blockbuster films.

From Fantasy genre i'd like to see at the very least these

Sword of Shannara.

or make it a trilogy :D with the Elfstones and the Wishsong.

At least one film jesus...OK its probably too similar to LOR but his books (Terry Brooks) deserve at least one film.

The Belgariad. 5 books is probably too much to expect to be made into 5 epic fantasy films but you could probably squeeze down the story into 3 or 4 films maybe.

Most of all...(and its a crime it still hasnt happened)

Dragonlance Chronicles (3 books so 3 films) AND The Twins Saga (time of the twins, war of the twins and test of the twins)

That cartoon of fail sickness doesnt qualify.

The Mongoliad series

And world war Z and not the piece of junk film that was made. The books is so amazing and could easily be converted into one or several awesome films.

Gemmell, always wanted to see Druss the Legend taking some heads with his double headed axe Snaga.

Arthur C. Clarke's "Rendezvous with Rama", Morgan Freeman's been talking about making it for years now.

Hell's Gate - Douglas Nash. Details the Battle Of The Cherkassy Pocket where a massive Soviet force encircled the remnants of Army Group South and the Jerries still managed to escape.

60,000 Germans with 300 tanks and 240 artillery pieces against 340,000 Russians, who had 900 tanks, 1000 aircraft and 5300 artillery pieces.

I know Stephen King stuff has a history of not being that great on the big screen but the Dark Towers series could be epic.

The Remaining by D.J. Molles

Basically a way more believable take on a world overrun by zombies than The Walking Dead.

Oooh, haven't heard of that one - is it any good? I have read a fair few Zed books (World War Z etc).

I did enjoy:

PATIENT ZERO
DUST & DECAY
Rot and Ruin etc

by J Maberry.

A decent adaptation of Day of the Triffids. Maybe a decent version of I Am Legend, given that all versions made thus far fall way short of the book.
