Of course they are, David Cameron just wants to rid us of any free thought and prevent us from (quite rightfully) rebelling and hanging him from a lamp post when he finally pushes us all too far.

I think this is a good move with many controls and not like some countries which require you having to provide details like a passport or proof of age before being unblocked. (See Ireland's mobile phone companies)
You even have some handy time sensitive features.
Also having something like net nanny isn't appropriate any more since the world is much more connected ipod, ipads, smartphones, smart tvs etc not to mention children borrowing friends gadgets unknown to parents.
This way at least you know your kid won't be googling porn on your network (he'll just hack your neighbours'
) but that's a different issue. 
And with lawyers now sueing people for streaming porn I'm sure some will be glad of these filters.
What would be even better is if it could also feature blocking youtube minecraft vids which my son seems to be addicted to and stupid annoying songs like what did the fox say
Also network routers are not the easiest to navigate and aren't built for easy porn blocking (least my netgear one isn't) I wouldn't know where to start nor can I really be bothered learning.

Not sure what the issue is - I think its a good idea, but then again I've got kids so any extra protection for them is always welcome. Saves me $100 dollars a year for my OpenDNS subscription if it works.

Who wants to give millionaires tax breaks and penalise small business owners? Promoting market monopolisation and tax avoidance to boost his figures.

Who allows a man who knows nothing about education, to decide how we educate the children of today?
Cutting nurses and medical support staff then hiring them back from a private company saving no money but resulting in them getting a huge cut in pay and job security?
Standards of living have fallen dramatically since the tories have come in, wages just drop and drop in real terms while everything gets more expensive and the job market becomes more competitive due to the desperation felt by people who are unable to pay their bills.
Governments have only to represent the interests of the people, the conservative party proves time and time again they have no regard for peoples interests.
I think having a centralised government is a bit like "which dung sandwich do you take a bite from" but hey, you might as well go for the least unpleasant option instead of sitting back and watching your freedom and your quality of life rapidly diminish.

I don't buy the slippery slope argument, there's no conspiracy here to control the Internet, it's just politicians trying to grab some votes by holding up the 'For the Children' (fake) banner.
It's too late to try to control the Internet in the Western World because once people get a taste of freedom, it's extremely difficult to convince them it's bad for them, even if it actually is bad for them (ie. the availability of guns in the US).

Surely everyone must be able to see the trends by now?
Governments and business worldwide are getting more controlling, corrupt and against peoples wishes and whats right, i can't say where it will end up but things look worse as time goes on, i think there will come a point where everyone has had enough.
Also if you think about it there's some areas where society seems a bit backwards, porn vs violence for example, one is happy to be shown on tv most of the day while the other is not, one is seen or said to be bad etc by society/system the other is not.
I think there's something wrong with society or the systems we have, im not sure whether it's by chance or design but i don't think the average person is the cause, it seems like things are being manipulated to be irrational and pathetic.

No, I don't fear the government, as there is a choice in the matter here. You can opt back into the adult content.
As for the slipper slope argument, I see it as making a mountain out of a mole hill argument.
