*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

it's gDrive + Photos mr alcohol picture taker I suspect. Log into g drive and you'll get 15gb. Photos asks if you want to sync the first time, you might want to enable this too (it's similar to dropbox but has things like auto-awesome which is photo colour correction).

Haha. :D I was already signed into Google Drive with both my home and work accounts so that can't have been it.

The google play site says payment won't be taken until the item is dispatched, phoned them up as payment was taken today, yet she said on the phone that they won't ship until the 5th of January

Sounds strange, I would put my money on your phone actually having been dispatched today if the money is taken. Sometimes their info can be slow to update, usually the first big indicator a Nexus device is on the way is the money having been taken.

Never experienced the money getting taken before dispatch. Give it till tonight I suspect you will get a dispatch email some time today.

edit: As said above it could be the pre-auth thing. Which would mean no funds have actually been withdrawn.

the payment was probably just "allocated" not taken.. which simply means that you won't see it in your available balance yet still have it in your bank when google finally dispatches the item.. if something goes poof google can simply cancel it and the money will be back to your available balance without them needing to transfer it from one account to another.

On my online banking, my current balance is ... but my actual balance available is £349 less, looking into the account, it says google Playetc etc £349 on the 17th of december.

which is what it should be then :) from your point of view there's no difference if they have or haven't taken the money.. either way you can't use it :) was exactly the same in my case.

There's quite a big difference between payment being "allocated" and taken actually. As far as I know and have experienced Google never actually take the funds until a device is dispatching.

If his online statement is saying the funds have actually gone then I would say the phone is probably on the way. Unless Google have changed how they deal with pre-orders, which is unlikely.

From where I am, they have taken £350 so I can see they have taken the full amount already :)

Just spoke to my bank who have confirmed the money has been taken.
