Arrgh, this grinding is worse then I thought it'd be :(
I enjoy tier 9 and 10 so going back to tier 6 is hard :(

Russian - T150 - not too bad but still very painful
British - AT-8 - This is quite good actually, but still painful
German - VK and Nashorn - VK painful, Nashorn fun
Chinese - Type 58 - painful
American - Hellcat - It's fun to play but knowing you are grinding for XP makes it painful
French - ARL V39 - I'm going to slit my wrists with a rusty nail

I cant see doing 3334 XP per day in the French and Chinese tanks. I'm thinking maybe just grinding them big style at the weekend with 2x XP for every battle. The others I can cope with but these 2 are really really bad. The French is the worst. I might buy back my AMX 12t too so I can get more 2x XP daily so it will be less of a chore. The only problem is the 12t is just as bad as the ARL V39 so it still sucks. I wish I had enough free XP for the ARL 44 :(

the arl 44 is actually quite a nice tank and would be my choice if i were trying to do this challenge.

x2 regardless or a win or loss - please no.

The number of players just suiciding, next tank, repeat until fade will just be horrible.

They need to give ZERO xp and credits to the bottom 5 on each side IMO.

The x2 for every battle + the IS6 grind means that there will be hundreds of T6 tanks suiciding. Might be some great MM for T8 tanks with all the extra T6s !

ISU-152 drivers could be in for a great time !

Suiciding won't progress the mission.

x2 does nothing to change your position on the endgame results.

The list is sorted by basic XP gained before any bonuses.

So if you suicide you'll still be at the bottom of the XP list but after that it all gets the premium bonus, the x2 bonus. It just won't count for the mission.

This will probably be true for both sides. Normally I wouldn't condone it, but it's a one-off, the weekend before Christmas, so not that bothered.

Fair enough - I do like the idea of just zeroing the credits/xp for the bottom 5 players though. Just imagine the impact. Rubbish players progress more slowly, have to TRY to learn, suicides/bots just stop working. So simple !

It will be interesting to see it the standard of play actually improves over the next few weeks at T6 level.

I don't agree with zeroing for the bottom 5 players as I feel it may be a bit harsh for those that try, yet still end up in the bottom 5. I've always liked the idea of a "minimum bar" though, i.e if you don't move over a certain distance (even arties have to move slightly in most games) and/or fire+hit a certain number of shots) then you get zero xp and zero credits. That would help fix Idlers/bots.

I agree, however they won't ever implement a system that addresses idler or bots for the simple reason that in order for them to be effective they probably need a premium account to make a profit in xp = money to WG.

Maybe just make it to gain exp/credits you must do 1 or more damage to the other team. As bots never do damage and just seem to be idle/get stuck.

Bottom 5 rarely help the team at all anyway, I like the idea of no XP and credits for them

Regardless of how bad you at the game (to a certain extent) if you actually put some effort in and try hard, rather than charging in to suicide or just afking then you should get in the top 5. People shouldn't be rewarded for doing nothing :)

Tough one this and an interesting topic.

On the one hand I do agree that anyone not contributing to the teams effort should receive nothing in return. However from a War Gaming perspective you'd be alienating 80% (conservative estimate) of your player base as they would never rank up, never get enough XP or credits to buy better tanks and they would just leave - so from a business perspective it doesn't make any sense.

From a gameplay perspective it only makes sense to those with enough ability to reliably come in the top half of the leader board, hence why I think most people here - including myself - think its a good idea.

Well they can still play the game, just don't get rewarded for being crap / lazy when specials are on. Wargaming should be encouraging people to learn and get better, instead they promote the opposite with premium ammo and other irritating "features".

But on the plus side anyone interested in the game can learn. Just understanding spotting and view ranges will get you into the top 66% of the team (and into the points). It IS NOT HARD to be better than the worst 33%.

Plus you just by trying you will learn. It would stop idiots getting a T10 tank simply by repeated failure.

On the plus side for WG it would make grinds slightly harder (we all have poor games from time to time) which would encourage free-xp/premium tank use.

I'd only concede as a good idea if it was lowered to bottom 3. One fifth of the team being penalised for being rubbish seems a lot more fair than being unlucky enough to be on a team of 10 unicum/blue players.
