This story just doesn't surprise me:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25426263

Every day I find myself bumping into people aor being held up while people they selfishly go about letting the world know that they have miraculously arrived at the station. Whilst not looking where they are going, I'm surprised there's not more serious accidents.

Call me old, but what is with people they they can't keep their faces out of their mobiles tech for 5 minutes.

Some of the recent advertisements portraying people walking around whilst using their mobiles isn't that far from the truth.

What do you think..?

Having just moved from the city, I don't miss having to constantly dodge the mass amount of people who seem fixated on letting the world know their every move. I myself have seen plenty of near misses at busy crossings where they haven't even bothered to check for the green man due to head down and tapping away on their phone.
If I'm popping into town, I tend to make a concious effort to not even look at my phone, almost feels liberating.

Facebook is addictive, no question. The more you use it, the worse it gets. And like any addiction, it can make you more frustrated and unhappy the more contact you have with it.

It's largely pointless. I've been without it for several weeks now and haven't missed it at all.

Article should have been "Girl Did Not Concentrate Whilst Walking To End of Pier".

It could have been FB, it could have been Whatsapp, it could have been looking at recent photos, a text or just changing your music on your phone and she'll probably still fall into the end of the pier, because she wasn't concentrating.

Sounds more like she's just a garden variety moron rather than not concentrating.

I don't do social media. I often hear people talking about FB and most of the time it's people bitching about someone.

Some stupid bint staring at her phone actually caused a workmate to come off his motorbike once. Walked blithely straight into the side of him as he passed on the road, he came off, she whined "Sorrryyyyyy", picked up her phone and buggered off while he lay there trying to get the strength back to stand up.

Does my nut... ads on TV openly encouraging walking along while staring at your screen, not to mention those now in cinemas now encouraging use of mobile phones during the trailers (hey, it's OK if it's on silent!) and that insipid EE ad featuring an entire family out for breakfast doing nothing but staring at screens in their own little worlds, much to the delight of Kevin Bacon.

This really annoys me, I seem to be constantly dodging idiots who are walking down the street looking at their phone and not where they are going.

Firstly, you're old. ;)

But on the subject, whilst this is increasingly frustrating for people this sort of thing has become the norm today.

But you say, "everyday" you bump into people? Do you spend your day wondering around crowded tube stations looking for people to bump into? :p

This is also one of my pet hates. I see it all the time here. Stupid bints with kids in prams being pushed across a busy road with head buried in mobile phone.... yeh really clever. Don't forget the morons who do this when driving.

I have fb. I like using it as a news feed and some light banter among friends but I see it rather arrogant that people feel the need to tell others what they are doing all the time.
