Hey guys, ive packed my SSD with BF4 and a few other things which I can't remove, i have saved space every way you can. All I need to know is how on earth can i get Winrar to download a file to another drive other than C WINDOWS. Ive changed all the settings in Winrar itself, and this probably is really easy. I have to use Winrar for what im trying to do, please someone tell me this is easily fixed, winding me up .

thanks

I am trying to download a certain set of files from the internet. Before today ive been ok but now ive had to fill c drive. i need to be able to redirect all winrar downloads to other drives, and changing all the option in winrar does nothing :(

You need to change the downloads location in your browser settings. In Google Chrome this option is in the settings menu, in the advanced settings area.

you will need to change the download location in what ever programme/browser you are using not winrar.

Ill try changing the browser location. Andy winrar has everything to do with where the files go, if you download using it.

You don't download using Winrar. You download via HTTP or occasionally FTP from your browser. If you left click on a .rar file hosted online then it will download to a temp folder then open in Winrar. You need to right click the file and save it rather than open it. We're taking the **** (a little unfairly perhaps) because changing download locations is fairly rudimentary stuff for most of us

You can't "download" with Winrar, any more than you can download with notepad. It's a file (un)compressor, and is nothing to do with downloading.

Most likely you are using a program to download that then automatically unpacks using Winrar. You need to change whatever settings are in the program that actually does the downloading, not Winrar that just does the unpacking.
