*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

OMG, I was in two minds about buying a Wii U as no interest in any other next gen. Buying soon, and I'm excited!

Nice :) It's pretty much the only thing I'm playing at the mo. I picked up one for my brother too for Christmas - the more ppl on the WiiU the better!

Wii U Premium Bundle Including New Super Mario Bros Wii U + New Super Luigi U + Super Mario 3D World + Mario and Sonic at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games + Sonic and All Star R

For £280? Good price, anything better out there, not interested in the sonic games.

I got the Lego City and Rayman bundle for £240 on the rainforest site. Mostly because I don't have those games and can borrow them from my bro when he's done with them :) Up to you whether it's a better deal - it pips the Mario and Sonic bundle for me as you can just add Mario 3D for the same price and you don't have to put up with the Sonic guff!

I think your right, I do fancy Lego City, though I also fancy Mario and Lugi U....

I'm confused is Mario U and Luigi U separate games? And what is the difference?

Where?

Luigi U is DLC for the main game. Both are very good to be fair - the best 2D Mario games since the snes. Rayman is meant to be better, though, at least going by reviews - it's the 3rd highest rated WiiU game on metacritic.

Meh to the bundle.

For the record though - Sonic and all stars racing transformed is bloody brilliant. You can (and should) hoover it up 2nd hand for £12 or so. Mental MP fun!

Gamepad and one wii mote will do for two players - you're good to go.

Ah thanks! Seems way too complicated nintendo need to do a better job explaining i mean i was told today by a friend who got one recently that on the Mario Bros U that you can only do 2 player if both using wii remotes as if you use gamepad + wii remote the person using the gamepad can only do stuff with boxes or something is that true?

Yes - it's very weird.

No other game is like that though.

The cream of Wii U gaming atm is:

Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii game, but plays on the Wii U)
Zelda OOT and SS (Wii games, but play on the Wii U)
Super Mario 3D World
Zelda Wind Waker HD
Rayman Legends
Mass Effect 3
Splinter Cell BL
Super Mario Bros U/Luigi U
Nano Assault Neo
NFS Most Wanted
COD Ghosts
AC3 and 4
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Lego City Undercover
Deus Ex: HR, Directors Cut
Nintendoland
Trine 2
COD BLOPS
The Wonderful 101
Sonic and All Stars Racing
Disney Infinity
Pikmin 3
Monster Hunter 3

Plus a nose around the Nintendo E Shop will uncover further budget gems.

Plus Sports (just launched Tennis and Bowling), plus the Party games/Singing games.

Don't be put off at picking up old Wii games (unless of course you had them on the Wii) - hit ebay and scoop them up for peanuts, get a slice of history.

^

Pricing is ridiculous - don't go there.

Some games - Indy stuff or retro nintendo stuff is eshop only though and reasonably priced. Sports is priced well and you can buy temporary pass or permanent - sports is eshop only.

Yeah i heard about that i wouldnt mind it but im guessing its like £30 ??
