DualShock 4 rubber peeling

I got £50 refund (the price of seperate controller). Tried telling her my bundle comes with two, but I thought i wud be greedy :P

So as this does seem to be a design flaw, doesn't that mean you can keep returning them for up to six years? (Or until Sony fix the issue and it stops happening.)
 
Mine peeling really bad now :(

What are my chances of going into GAME and getting a replacement there and then? Really not keen on sending it away to Sony to be honest... :p it'll take days!
 
Mine seems to be ok so far, but I don't think it's had the same amount of usage as some others. I rotate between both my controllers too so that might be prolonging it a bit.
 
Just had a tiny wee speck of rubber come off the edge of the rubber grip, I think I'll just get some protectors to stop it getting nay worse. I actually find my thumbs slide on them anyway so might help all round.
 
Spoke to Amazon, they are going to send me a replacement on the 25th and then I'll send mine back. Going to get the protectors for the one.
 
I've had protectors on one of my controllers since I last posted in this thread - cost about £4, and no problems since (stopped rotating the controllers usage too, hence only put the protectors on one of them).

Fairly surprised Sony have been quiet (publicly) about this.
 
Well I got that wrong, they wanted to replace the whole lot. I said I cant as I no longer have the bundled game but they said it was ok they will make an exception so basically I get a free copy of killzone I can sell again :)
 
My DS4 is covered in rubber grains after every use, the left stick is getting pretty bad, but not completely falling apart yet. Weird thing is that both me and my brother got Launch Day PS4s from John Lewis, and his controller is fine, even with more use than mine.
 
the rubber is way softer on the ds4 vs the one controller which is why I've put grips on mine,I'm all for making things better but both companys have made blunders on each controller
 
I've been extremely lucky with my controllers so far it seems :\, ever since I first heard about this back in the US release I've been constantly checking my controllers for any signs of peeling but nothing so far. On the very top of one thumbstick it's slightly not textured any more so maybe it's getting there but the amount I've played my PS4 I'm surprised it's not happened yet or gotten any worse at least! I await the day it does though... Kind of surprised Sony hasn't made a statement on this though yet.
 
Mines the same Zhokel, Ive been paranoid expecting issues but so far only got the glossy thing and I wouldnt say Ive gone out of my way to look after it - Ive put it down to fact Ive probably played way less than most...

Ive started using my spare DS4 in case that exhibits the issue - rather know now and get it hopefully sorted

I cant see how Sony can ignore this though perhaps theyve fixed it for new DS4s batches? I wont buy another til I hear better stories about them tbh - Japan launch should hopefully give us a good idea...

EDIT: Ive also not had any sticking with L1/R1 neither - think I got lucky or my luck will run out - Ill be sure to post my annoyance when it does...

Yeah that's the other thing I've yet to experience xD
I have alternated my controllers though, use one till battery is gone, then use the other till it's run out while the other was charging, so maybe it's too bad? They both have at least 100 hours of use on each though :\

I had the sticky buttons, but it's an easy fix and not to much to be worried about, My sticks have no signs or peeling though which is good.
 
So my launch day day left analogue stick has started to flake off and is looking worn (only moderate usage) I bought it online at game, don't know whether to ring customer services or take it into a shop, I don't fancy sending it back and doing without one for a while, I'm tempted to get thumbstick covers or replace them but worried I might mess it up when I open it up
