Corsair led quiet edition fans

My friend has the standard non led fans with the rubber corner mounts and I certainly would not use corsair fans in my own build.

You are much better off with decent non led fans and some led strips.

usually the problems with led fans is that they are loud, these are quiet editions, surely they have to be decent? and ive only read good things so far about corsair fans, how come you would not use it in your own build? or was you referring to the led ones?

I've owned a few LED fans over the years and always found them to be noisy. I think this might be down to the material they have to use to make them translucent.

If you are handy with a soldering iron you could make your own LED fan out of a normal fan, like this. These use Xilence cheapy redwing fans, some 3mm LEDs, 4 resistors, plus some wiring.

or even this..

Which is a lot more complicated but looks superb.

Why would you not use a set of fans considered to be one of the best out there?

As for the OP. IMO you'd be far better going for standard non-led fans and then using LED strips. Almost all LED fans take power for the LEDs from the same curcuit as the fan motor. So if you've got the fan on a controller when the voltage drops to lower the fan speed the LEDs will dim.
