hi all

I have a Hughes and kettner matrix 100 amp and I was just wondering if it was a decent amp or not. I have found a few old reviews but I'm not sure how accurate they are.

does anyone have experience of using this amp or know much about it or what its worth?

Apologies but I've been buying amps and hanging out with musicians for 43 years and I've never heard anybody ask if their amp is any good.
If you went out and bought an amp of that quality & cost, you would know if it's good or not unless it has suddenly ended up in your hands off the back of a lorry.
Actually reading your post it does sound like you've 'acquired' it.

I bought it off of a local buy and sell group for 70 pounds last year when I wanted to learn the guitar. I had seen that it had a couple of good reviews but couldn't find a lot of information on it or anything recent from the UK.

I have hardly used it so thought I would get rid of it at 70 pounds again but thought I better check if it still holds its own in the modern era in case I am selling it too low. I thought some of the musicians on here might have personal experience using or selling the amp.

I can assure you I bought the amp myself and did not acquire it.

I have to many amps that don't get used but if that was to make its way on to the MM id be tempted at £70 :)

How insulting

Perhaps because if you've bought an amp with a RRP of just under $1000 for £70 you should have some idea of it's quality or the seller quickly got rid of it
Not rocket science.

I once bought a 1975 Gibson Les Paul Standard for £25 when I didn't know what one was - honest guvnor.

(I don't do rolleyes)

Dimple, I thought the Matrix was one of the cheaper transistor amps? I'm sure an old practice room I used to use had one knocking about.

Yes, the OP explained himself and my original Google turned up an UG review when it was quite expensive.
It seems the going price is around £140 so £70 isn't in the 'acquired' category.
