Anyone tried this? I'm sick of O2's service so I want to move my mobile broadband SIM from EE into my phone and use TuGo to retain my number until my contract is up. Will it work?

Whoops yes well we're both kind of right :)

It works over a mobile network on 4G tablets but not phones:

With 4G being rolled out, I understand voice calls are still routed over 3g/2g. Any plans to allow tugo via 4g until volte is implemented?
>> Good question! We don't currently allow TU Go voice calls over data from smartphones as this would lead to double-charging for both minutes and data. However, if you have a 4G tablet, you should be able to use that data connection to make and receive calls over TU Go. Our experience of TU Go on 4G is still in the early stages so we'll be looking out for feedback around how TU Go users are finding it - in other words, if this is something you're keen to see, please do shout and we'll look into it
