Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

All my first person hopes are tied up with Titanfall. There are literally no current fps I like on the PC at the moment. Compared to the TFC/RTCW/ET/Quake/CS era things are in a very sad state of affairs. Enough moaning - it looks epic, and may actually require skill in movement?!

Do like the look of this with 2 concerns:

1. It's EA. That really could potentially mean something negative now, although I hoped they would have learned with BF4.
2. Not sure of the longevity, the gameplay trailer further up looks like great fun but to a point the Mech combat is very much just hold the fire button down. Not sure how much there is tactically with the mech combat. Infantry looks like great fun. I would imagine bigger maps might add a bit of depth if you have limited ammo but it seems as if the mechs respawn so frequently that having yours destroyed doesn't come with that much of a penalty. Also looking at how well the infantry can move i'm sure quite soon being in a mech just leaves you open to any half decent player jumping on you and taking you out.

Just looks like COD with robots to me. Will probably suck but maybe not, gonna wait for release and hands on reviews to come out.

Respawn is made up of the people that made the last decent COD game however - Modern Warfare. There is hope that although it might be slightly COD ish, it will likely take the best bits of COD.

If they've done tests, they've probably figured out that 12 players is ideal for the environments. Small(er) environments equals closer, more frequent combat. If you put too many people in there, it will just be too much die/respawn/repeat with little actual gameplay.

Bigger matches would end up like trying to play football on a standard pitch with 50 people in each team.
