As per thread title! I'm entitled to get away with this because we are effectively 51/52nds through 2013 and more importantly because I said so. In your post, you are allowed unlimited pros and only a couple of negatives, if you must, because I can't stand whiners and again, it'd my thread, hurrr!

Was a decent but relatively uneventful year for me, no big life changes. Became more competent at work, had a huge rise and fall in terms of fitness, had lots of good times and have lived in two houses with good friends. Not bad, although not one to look back on with misty eyes perhaps!

How was your year? :)

Crap. I was hurt really badly* by a girl who I thought I done day marry, and, more significantly, obviously, my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My PhD could be going better, too.

*this turned out for the best because I have someone much better now, but it was nonetheless very painful indeed.

good year. earned a stupid amount of money but i am feeling pretty burnt out.

bringing in 2014 with 6 weeks in queensland and looking forward to the year ahead.

Pros:
Payrise. Earned a ****load of money. Changed roles. Met a girl I'm quite worryingly falling for. Started writing again. Massive bonus. More OcUK meets than last year. Cheaper car insurance. Started loving my job all over again. New car.

Cons:
Learned a lot of my colleagues are cheating on their wives. Moved out of London. Smashed the Gold Amex to hell and back. Still not given up smoking.

On balance, 2013 has been a really good year for me. As always, there have been ups and downs, but I can definitely close the year feeling good about it. :)

Very bad start to the year. Wife's grandad passed away, 18 year old cousin commit suicide.

The upside - passed my MCTS 70-680, following day my wife told me I'm going to be a dad. Bought our own house so no more renting.

Good way to finish the year I reckon with a good start next year as baby is due in January :)

Not bad I guess.

Pay rise, moved to a newer/bigger/better house, travelled to Taipei/Scotland/Vienna, lost a bit of weight, saved quite a bit of money for my house deposit even after the holidays and shopping, finally managed to organise a OcUK Christmas jumper meet :p

Still no boyfriend though :D :o

It's been one hell of a roll coaster of a year for me, particularly where work had been concerned, finished up the year by landing a new job which will be a hefty pay rise on my current part time position in retail.

After organising the xmas jumper meet, you may have me. Do with me as you will. :p

I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams (flying) so it was awesome. Long may it continue.

I'm still single but decided that it doesn't really matter anymore.

Got a lot fitter.

I booked a load of other awesome things I want to do and have decided to be much more selfish instead of catering to the demands of others and feel much better for it. I'm done with being a "people pleaser".

Some people died which was tragic, but I've dealt with it. It happens to us all.

2014, come at me bro!

Quite good to be honest! Went from a dead end job in retail to a junior position in IT which I wanted to do for ages! Also got another diploma in digital media.. Looking forward to 2014! :)

Enjoyed summer a lot with friends. Couldn't afford anything. All my money went out paying bills. Lost my job a few weeks back. See what happens in 2014.
