As the title says, which one? They are about the same price new, wouldn't mind getting it for a bit cheaper though. I know the 670 is very slightly faster but would it be worth getting the 760 just for "future-proof"ness sake or something like that?

Cheers

Nah, the 670 is slightly more futureproof due to being faster. Get the 670 if it's a choice between the two.

The only difference is, 760 has Kepler boost 2.0, but it does not matter one bit if you overclock your cards manually anyway; it only affects stock boost clocks.

Hmm, but I know about stuff such as shadowplay and such being available for the 7XX and 6XX series, but will things like that only be available for the 7XX series and onwards in the future?

I'd say again, "Nah". Both are Kepler cards, and both are based on the same GK104 chip. Shadowplay and G-sync are available for both 6xx and 760/770, but if they do decide to lock out one series, it will go all the way to 770 because That's a GK104 as well. 780 and onwards are GK110.

I wouldn't worry owning a 670 now, by the time you need a feature that 670/760/770 won't support, the card will be too old anyway :)

(Oh yes, I do own one.. but I am upgrading as soon as Star Citizen alpha is out, or some other game I cannot run on full blast).

I suppose yeah, think I'll be on the lookout for a good deal then - what would you say is a good price for one right now?

I have no idea about that, sorry.. For a proper "Good for money"-deal you might want to look at the AMD R9 290 instead, that'll last you forever. But it will be expensive if you want a non-reference model.

If you are buying a 670, might as well buy one used in my opinion.. as used, the price will better reflect the lifetime you get out of it in my opinion.

Maybe someone else can give you better feedback on this :)

I think the R9 290 is a bit on the expensive side for me, but I was going to have a stab at getting a used 670 anyway. I even saw a used GTX 770 OC for under £200 but the seller is too far away for me to go to collect it and he is unwilling to post.

Brand new GTX670's for a decent price are getting hard to find now. One online store regularly had a MSI reduced to £160-165 but all are out of stock now. They go for around £130 delivered in the MM but you don't have access to it so your best second hand chance is Ebay where they go for silly prices.

Hmm yeah I think I rang the same company up yesterday, they said they were out of stock. It's almost £200 on another major site for the Asus one which I guess is really expensive.

I think it's a bad price going from what others have been saying mate, best to wait a while until after christmas perhaps, where the clearance sales begin.

I'm also looking at the GTX 670, was about to buy it for ~£195, is that a bad price or what?

That's a ridiculous price now and as supplies are drying up i can't see it coming down much. If you really want Nvidia have a good look at the factory overclocked GTX760's that OCUK sell for £199 (MSI Gaming edition & Gigabyte Windforce). The extra clockspeed should make them more or less equal to GTX670 performance.

How would you feel about the Gigabyte GTX 760 for about £180?

670, no sense getting a 760 its a cut down 670 with reversed numbers to match the silly nature of the card. Considering a 2nd hand 670 4GB goes for 160-170 its a no brainer but you need a lot more posts for the members market. If you can find a new 670 for the 200mark then get it!

Bought mine new from OCUK for £200 in september but sadly those deals are gone :(
