Kind of sick of this card already, should have stuck with AMD. Now when playing Planetside 2, the game will freeze completely and has a sound loop, screen goes black and then returns to the game.
Should I RMA this thing? I never ever had problems with my AMD cards in the last 6 years, this card has given more grief than all the last 6 years combined, so disappointed with Nvidia.
I had a R290X that produced coil whine, although that was the least of its problems. The replacement Gigabyte 780 Ghz I got has coil whine at very high frame rates but least it works unlike the R290X. Coil whine can affect anything which has coils which means nearly anything in a computer can cause it although it is more prone to graphics cards and PSUs.
Is your CPU at stock speed ?Any idea what is causing this guys?
Well you could run in to an issue with an RMA since I believe you stated that it only seems to be a problem with one of your PSU's, which means it may well be an issue related to your PSU meaning when they test it the issue may not happen. Thus you may have to use DSR instead but if it is your PSU there is no guarantee you won't run in to further issues with a different high end card.
Yeh gonna do that mate. I did a full 100% driver clean and re install, done pretty much everything and the screen is still cutting out. It loses total signal to the monitor for about 4 seconds then returns. Not what I expected for £400.
Can I ask where did you buy it from?
Here at overclockers
I noticed that the boost on this thing is supposed to be 1072mhz core clock but when gaming it goes to 1110.5mhz could that be too much? I haven't touched it, this is what it came like.
Boost on mine is 1175 at default i think you must have a faulty card![]()
Thanks mate, yeh I think it is faulty. Do you happen to have the GHZ edition? My temps never go above 63c on the card but the backplate is roasting hot, can barely touch it.

Hi mate,
Can you check GPUZ is yours the A1 or B1 revision? I heard that the GHz editions are supposed to be based on the newer B1 but my GPUZ is reporting an old A1.
Thanks for any info.
