That answer isn't really the spirit of Christmas is it though? Christmas isn't about consuming as much as you can, be it presents or food or drink. Capitalism has seen it swing from innocent family time enjoying each others company....to consume consume consume materialistic things with the innocence kinda lost, imo.

Christmas adverts 3 months before christmas day sort of shows how far we've come when I remember Christmas wasn't really talked about by everyone until Mid/late November at the earliest. Less pressure to buy buy buy, etc.
