Calorie Intake Today

I was nowhere near as bad this year as I have been in previous years. I didn't weigh everything in my dinner, so I don't have a precise figure, but it was roughly 3100 calories. I doubt I'll eat much today, however, as my stomach still feels bloated from yesterday's onslaught.

What'd be more interesting to hear is how many calories people get from alcohol on New Years - I'd guess that it'll be higher than their Christmas binges!

Anyone saying less than 2k... yeah right :p Recommended intake for men (remember there are no girls on the internet) is 2.5k on a normal day. Christmas day will be around 4k. Booze will account for 1k of that easily.

Conversationally, an excess of 3.5k cal equates to 1lb weight gained. Same with being short of 3.5k cal, and 1lb is lost.

Dunno & don't care, i lost 16kg due to chronic illness this year, & i wasn't a fatty to start off with, so i figure what the hell, ive earned the right to be a pig over crimbo!. :D

Ahhh my bad yes.... it's around 1550 for me not 1200.

2500 for active men, 1500-2000 for those with office jobs

4000+ today, had a fruit feast. Christmas calories is everyday for me. It's great eating as much as you want and not having to worry about heart disease promoting sat fat and cholesterol. :)

It's high blood triglyceride levels from over consumption of carbs/sugars that can promote heart disease, saturated fats are healthy and safe. Your extremely high carb/sugar intake which you don't balance with decent fats (animal fats, VCO) is far more dangerous from a health perspective than eating saturated fat. Typical vegan, totally out of touch with what the body needs/wants.

I don't think I consumed a huge amount, I had a normal breakfast, a Christmas dinner and a small evening meal and I didn't drink alcohol. Although woke up at 08:30 this morning feeling rough as ****, I presume my body isn't used to such a large meal.

Was reading an article on cracked.com earlier that said most people eat their recommend calorie intake by like 2pm on christmas and round off the day somwhere around the 7k mark!

LOL Come on do you really believe the raging obesity epidemic is the cause of bananas and mangoes?

No, it's largely to do with highly palatable refined/processed foods with their unnatural combination of salts, fats, sugars and additives which make it difficult for people to eat sparingly. It's very unlikely you'll become obese from a diet of fresh meats, animal fats, eggs, fruits and vegetables.

So what you are saying is you think that some people believe bananas and mangos exist purely because of the fatties?
Not everyone is as special as you.

There was an article on The Guardian on the same subject last week. They suggested that the average person will consume 6000 calories, which they freely admit seems dubious. The Daily Mail suggests that it's 7000 calories, but looking at their chart it seems as though they've plucked the numbers out of their rear ends.

Asily 10k+ I mean the biitter alone was 1500calories, thats before the wine, port, choclates, cheese and biscuits, full on roast etc.

Im surprised the average for christmas day is meant to only be 7000 which i think sounds low. I expect lots of people would have their daily allowence in just liquid form alone.

I've already had another large roast dinner (left over from yesterday),pint of coke (full fat) and some rather nice coffee cake and that was by 10am :)

In hindsight, I'm probably over, had 3 blocks of cheese, a small crate of beers and half a bottle of whiskey, and a calculated 1700 of chocolate alone... Lol

Today I've had 3 slices of beef and not hungry at all.

It's amazing how clear my head is too - food clearly sucks up the effect of a hangover!

Hangover free after a crate of beer and half a bottle of whiskey? No, chances are you're just still drunk :D
