Hi
I have upgraded most of my pc for my iron man build and wanted as close to silence as poss, so bought the following:
I have 2 x af120's in roof of pc, 2 x sp120's on my H55 and a coolermaster megaflow 200mm in the front
They are all controlled by the built in aerocool controller
But they are not making the noise it is my EVGA Supernova 650w psu
Dont think its faulty, its just noisy in general... Noticed it in my prodigy as well only went with evga because of the warranty
So i am after a new psu, which is as close to silent as possible

I have in my case (if this helps for wattage)
i5 3570k (standard clock)
Corsair H55
Asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo
8gb ram (upgrading to 16gb in march)
120gb sandisk ultra ssd
500gb 2.5" hdd
1tb 3.5" hdd
Msi gtx 780 gaming (will sli in the future-maybe a year down the line)
2 x af120
2 x sp120
1 x coolermaster megaflow 200m
Aerocool built in fan controller

At the minute thats an after thought, just keen on silence at the moment
What are the superflowers like?
The superflowers are supposed to be really good performance wise but i don't know how loud they are. 750w will be plenty for sli. You won't need 850w. With the superflower you could even go as low as 650w, but id go with a 750w just to keep it quiet.

My max is like £150
I could get the 1000w superflower gold?
Just seen a thread by stulid, where he reviews the platinum version and he posted a video, cannot hear it. Which is ideal and also allows my system to grow
Hmmmmm, decisions!
Would prefer a similar one but cheaper if possible?
If not i am happy to spend like i said £150

You could get a 1000w but it would be overkill even with 2 780's. There isn't much point spending extra on something that your not using to near its potential. A modular be quiet 750w will do the job just as well for much less and the fans are very quiet.

Thanks ill have a look ;)

Not sure about the gold, etc. Models, but those based on the seasonic platinum plus PSU that have hybrid mode should be silent (passive) upto 250watt and the fan hardly spins up unless you really push em past 80% load.

EDIT: Wow price has shot up on these - the corsairs are 170+ and the one in my sig has gone upto £200 - I bought it for like 159. This one is still around 150 though.

EDIT2: Looks like some of the cheaper golds have fanless mode to, you just have less control over it.

No reviews yet as they are too new. It has a single 12v rail of 54A/648w so power wise it's more than enough for your pc. Non modular is the downside though.

Cheers guys

I dont overclock, had no need to, Things play exactly how i want them..... For the time being

Well i will wait till i am paid next, hopefully ocuk will stock the leadex 750w etc by then
