computer was on all night last night, came to it this morning and noticed i had no internet.

changed the cable to see if that would help but nothing.

internet troubleshooter said that there is a driver or hardware problem with the ethernet controller.

i have tried unstalling and reinstalling the drivers. also tried clearing cmos and a full reinstall of windows but nothing.

RMA?
 
Blow the dust out of the ports etc, check the modem/router in case that is messing up, I think it is probably the port just blown or something, but an RMA is hassle lol. Maybe someone else has an idea?
 
have u tried to reset the router to fact settings, theres usually a reset button that u have to press in using a pin or similiar.

the router is working fine with everything else, i have plugged my alienware laptop in as desktop replacement for the moment.

would installing a wireless dongle work to bypass the ethernet controller?
 
could try overnight/battery left out cmos clear,aswell as reflashing the bios

all you can do is rma if you want the onboard lan fixed or add in a wifi dongle or pci/pcie card
 
could try latest modded bios??

has newer lan rom

rma looks like its on holiday till after the new year anyway so theres no rush to rip it out and send it back.
