upgrade to 780 acx from a 290? persuade me otherwise

I'm thinking of selling my r9 290 and buying an 780 acx, i don't know but something feels off in games with my 290.

Side grade at best, in what way do games feel off?

The graphics look a bit bland for some reason, on revelations (older game) it starts stuttering sometimes)

Have you ran some benchmarks checked temps ect. It should be running new games perfectly fine (assuming you are at 1080?) never mind older ones. As for looking bland are your monitor settings correct.

I have to agree with Raven. Unless you wanted Nvidia specifics like PhysX, it would be a side grade.

its hard to describe the gfx look good, but dull at the same time. Where as with some nvidia screenies ive seen they look shiny/glossy it might just be me. ill try to put some screenies up later and let you guys be the judge.

That's nVidia's "Digital Vibrance", some like it some don't.

Thats probs what it is, i just put saturation on 200 and the screen looks more colourfull, whats the drawbacks of having high saturation?

I'm sure he can go into CCC and adjust saturation, pretty much the same effect. I hated digital vibrance on my 780, unrealistic colours etc.
