Why do so many people on this forum seem to have a fear of crowds?

It's not really a revelation that a lot of people on tech-orientated message boards tend to have social anxiety to some degree. Or are just introverted and don't really want or need to be around lots of people.

Probably in, 2 years ago had a flat party which was good. Wouldn't go into town on NYE because it'd be expensive, too busy, full of ******s and expensive to get a taxi back! :X

staying in as usual, the past 4-5 years we've got a few fireworks to let of at midnight but we hav'nt even bothered with that this year

I've spent most of my life on my own and what I've become accustomed to, being around people and places I don't know is just uncomfortable. Luckily living in the era of the internet I can do everything I need from home.

That just sounds really lonely :(

Need to mix it up and have the best of both. The 'hovis' solution.

I'll be down the cricket club yet again this year, same as ever. NYE is one of the few nights out I actually look forward to funnily enough.

Haven't got the foggiest, have an invite out in London with a friend from uni and her mates, all my mates are being massive *******s so nothing is being done there. My old footy team may be out locally so may join them too, I should really decide soon. Where's the don't know option?

Edit: oooooooooo! didn't know that was picked up by the sweary filter

Not sure yet, wanna go out but dont fancy getting ripped off.

To be honest NYE doesnt excite me as much as it used to be, especially in London. Last year I was in Bangkok which was great, wish I could go again. Previous to that I was in Switzerland, and couple years before that I spent it in Brazil. Next year hopefully spend it somewhere new!

Out with the GF and others in London, not sure if I can be 100% bothered but we'll see! We've a couple of tables booked between us so should be fine, few bottles as well initially to save queuing at the no doubt ridiculously busy bar!
