Hello ladies and gents. After a little advice or help please.

System specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64-BIT
Mobo - Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2.0
CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1100TT
RAM - Kingston DDR3 4096MB X 2

Using the Asus AI Suite I can see that both of my ram sticks are there as it picks up both of them and gives me serial numbers. However, if I go computer and properties it says "8GB installed and only 3.92GB usable". Resource monitor picks up 8GB with over 4 GB assigned to hadware reserved. Anyone have any suggestions as to why it's doing this? Things I've tried:

1. Resetting Ram sticks but I can still see them in my AI suite & Bios but same issue.
2. Resetting & updating BIOS respectively.
3. Making sure the maximum memory box thing is unticked and restarting.
4. Reset my cmos.
5. Enabling and disabling the ram power thing in bios (can't remember the exact name it's called).

One thing I tried was putting the ram in slot 1&2 and I got 6GB of ram usable which confused me. The manual advises I put it in the second and fourth slot which I have done. I'm completly confuddled now. Thinking that perhaps the MB is fubared unless anyone has any suggestions?

A quick google suggests you need to lower the speed of your memory in the bios, power your system off at the wall and then hit MeMok button - this worked with your exact mobo.

After a bit more testing it seems that one of my Memory modules has had it. Tried booting the computer with one module on each of the ram slots; booted everytime. Tried the other one - no boot. Am hoping this is the issue as it's easy to rectify. Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'll report back once I've got my new ram.
