Harveys furniture - anyone got good stories to tell about them?

One of the worst shops out there, i ordered a sofa and i had to wait six months for it, excuse after excuse, oh the company we ordered it from has gone bust blah blah but not to worry we have reordered it, shocking customer service, will never use again.
 
avoid like the plague, the worst retail outfit out there,

they hold zero stock, and show the only stock they have in the showroom, sometimes by the time they get a sale the far east company will have gone bust, and the item will no longer be available,

then good luck with a refund

An actual positive response :D This is the thing, apparently they deliver up to about 7000 times a week. They are actually one of the biggest (if not the biggest) in the UK and that will give them a disproportionately large amount of complaints.

I am using their 0% finance, I wonder if I can just stop making the payments (without impacting my credit rating) in the event of a problem.

No you can't, you need to go through all the correct procedures in making a complaint and proving they've failed their side of the contract before you've got a hoping hell of the finance company writing it off.

Explain why i had to wait 6 months for a sofa, 6 weeks maybe but 6 months is not on.
 
No experience with them but I bought a good quality UK made sofa from DFS and it was a great experience, no hassle at all and came earlier than they originally quoted.

If the op is quick to cancel his current he may be able to take advantage of the Sale that DFS has on just now ;)
 
Lol - nothing in DFS I wanted, bought a sofa in Sofaworks today. Real nice shop, very nice website. Usual mix of reviews (use to go by the name CSL) but they carry stock and I have delivery booked for this Friday.
