The 38 Most Haunting Abandoned Places On Earth.

Why can't you go in the buildings?

I would have loved to go there before the tourism. Would still like to go, but feel like iv'e already seen it all with all the photos floating about.

IIRC a floor collapsed some time ago while people were on a guided tour so they've clamped down on it "officially".

There are deserted old factories and industrial estates around here that wouldnt look at all out of place on that list. I'd love to break in and have a good look around.

That's a shame. I guess it was only a matter of time with trees growing inside the building and no maintenance for so long. I certainly wouldn't want to injure myself and have to wait for help in a place like that .

How was it? It is one of the most infamous places in the US. I'd love to read about your visit.

Really enjoyed it, they have recreated a few things such as Al Capone's cell but generally it has been left pretty derelict, they give you a headset with a commentary as you walk around, will post s few pics when I get chance

I presume a fistful of currency negates this "policy" anyway? :)

Yes and no. You'll get into the buildings in Pripyat by building a rapor with the guides but if you want to get into more extreme locations (Duga 3, Reactor 5 etc.) then you will need to pay some bribes :). Although the bribes weren't too bad, but not cheap.
