Looking to upgrade my monitor in 2014 to a 30 incher and am wondering what GPU I should also upgrade to to enjoy gaming at high specs. I have an Asus Direct CU 11 GTX 670 with the Dell 27" but would this not struggle with forthcoming games at a high+ settings?

A30" monitor is usually around 2560x1600 or 2560x1440, depending on screen ratio so an upgrade GPU might not ne necessary hence the advice seeking.

As yet I have not decided on a particular 30" monitor so any advice with that would be appreciated also.

Yes, a single 670 would struggle with most new games at 1400p or 1600p. When will you be getting a new monitor? If it's not for a few months yet, then you should consider waiting for Maxwell, but if you're getting it soon then you have a few options: 780, 780TI, 290, 290X; and/or combinations of these in SLI or CF if you have the dosh :)

Nope, no hurry whatsoever. And I prefer a single decent card rather than SLI or CF.

At a very minimum for a 1600p monitor I would say a single overclocked 780Ti or R290x

But for 1600p I myself would get nothing less then a GTX 780 SLI or R290 CF setup
(As I look at it as it no point in getting a very high resolution monitor for gaming if you don't have the hardware to power it ..;))
