Gaming Setup for £1300?

Hey guys,

I've been researching for several days now and I came to the conclusion that I'd opt for a water cooled, AMD Radeon r9 290x gaming rig with an i5-4670k which I will overclock. I decided to go for the Corsair Obsidian 750D case with the built in water cooling setup to achieve this. I already have memory from my build from two years ago.

I intend to crossfire the GPU later on and I just wanted to check with you guys if I'll be ok doing that in the near future. Let me know what you guys think! :)

Tom

You would need to add fittings and additional tubing to that. Do you not think since your going CF that you would be better going i7 4770k and 290 as this will be more favourable setup when you do go CF? :)

Ahh that's probably better eh Idle? Just a quick question, how hard is it going to be for me, someone who has never used water cooling before, to assemble?

Never done watercooling, so I`m not really the person to give you advice.
But from what i have read on here and else where, you need to plan out where everything needs to go and how your hose is to be routed.
Best advice I can give you is to open a thread in the Watercooling forum, the guys in there will be more helpful.

I was talking about 2 additional fittings for the GPU and tubing to reach the GPU granted you don't need much but nothing worse receiving your stuff and you missing a couple items that cost very little

If you're going to be fitting a gpu water block it'd be better to not go with the pre-water cooled 750d as you'll have to drain 'break up' the loop so better just to get the part separate and put it together yourself.

To add to idles spec, go with the MSI 290 rather than the asus speced. The MSI is cheaper, also MSI have a agreement with ocuk where the removal of the stock cooler is covered under warranty(well it was the case a few months back not sure I'd its still the case).

Ok couple of points, 1) the Case is the Phanteks case, yep i own the same case and believe me its incredible if your considering a watercooling build. It has so much room for rads, so many different options its mindboggling

I went with a Tube Res with integrated pump, its more than enough to cope with the build, plus if you want more showy later, you can swap the res part for a larger one as its a modular unit.

i7 4770k and 290 are both very high temp products, a 360 rad is probably not going to cut it for you, i have added 480 and 360 rads, the 480 can drop straight in the top of the case, the 360 straight in the bottom. Both should give you ample amounts of cooling with plenty of headroom to add a 2nd 290 later should you wish.

Also i have added all the fans you will need to keep the whole build lovely and cool :) comes in over your budget however.

You're certain everything will fit together (fittings and such stuff) before I order that? As for the case, I had someone else suggest that case too so I think it seems like the right one.

Thanks for your help :)
