My iPad 2 still does everything we need it to do.. The only problem I have is that the battery is starting to show sign of wear, and doesnt hold the charge as well as it used to do.. That would be my only concern, and the price, it needs to be cheap considering you are buying 3 year old hardware.
No, its slow and awful. Nowhere near enough ram and god is it slow these days.
£200 are you guys crazy, thats way to much for what it is. Infact pretty much any price is to much. It's just to old.
At that price point go original ms surface or android.
Either way you get a better screen, better cameras, 2gb of ram compared to 512mbs, faster cpu.
Or save up and get an ipad3, although its still only 1gb of ram and is expensive for what it is.
The iPad mini retina is well worth the extra £90, I'd be considering that over any old iPad to be perfectly honest.
The iPad 3 is just an A5X, so in terms of CPU performance it is the same as the iPad 2. It isn't any better than the iPad 2 in this respect, so I wouldn't e looming at anything older than an iPad 4. And yes, the iPad 2 and 3 are both pretty damn slow now.
Extra spend, but absolutely worth it.
I'd even say that a new mini retina is worth the rather significant extra spend.
I have a mini retina and an iPad 2. I still think the 2 does pretty well against the mini retina a lot of the time but I'm not sure id buy one now. I got it when they first dropped to £329 in about march 2012 and they were a year old then! I'd say with them still being sold by apple they should get support for a while yet
thanks for the input
I bought it for £230, when checking ebay/gumtree they were all about this price, and many were more money.
it is in mint condition, came boxed etc.
it has a smart cover, and leather case.
I mainly use it for work (driving instructor) so most apps i use are work related, and it runs them so much better than my ipad 1 did, plus i was able to get the updates for my apps that required higher than ios 5 to get.
so all in all, i am happy with my purchase.
Bloody kids.
On Christmas day my 13 year old nephew had got his head in an iPad and his Mum & Dad asked me if they can be upgraded with more memory because he's used 14 gig of the 16 gig. I tell them they can't be upgraded and ask what model it is.
It is a 16 gig iPad 2 so I ask why they bought that one when my nephew blurts out that iPad 2 16 gig are better than iPad 32 gig because his two mates say so.
I thought he had more sense.
