8 Pack benches the EVGA 780ti Classified on air and the rest!!!

Fair enough .
EVGA will never be open on this, I am sure .
But asking 750€ for such a card is really "taking an advantage " on this , or,
more straightly put, milking the customers .

I've been waiting patiently for years for an opportunity to use this picture and now that moment is upon us.

Give it a rest.

Nobody is forced to buy these top end cards. It isn't a given right to be able to afford them and if you deem them too expensive, look elsewhere.

Technically it's EVGA doing the milking so you've used it out of context anyway Matt. :)

Besides, it's still the fastest card currently available, so milking an old architecture still goes some way to come along side the revolutionary 290X even in reference form lol.

It's funny because a lot of the time in these cases the cards will have run fairly hot given the power consumption and pushing it to the very limits, but they don't fall short in that department compared to the 290X either. Milking is fine by me as long as it's fresher :D

Nope, even with the VDDC above 1.21 V . They got them because they ve got dud chips with bad ASIC quality not good enoguh to be slapped on Classy board. Your are free to check up , but I think that you do already know..

I have had personally 2 Classy GTX 780 that were nothing but mediocre OCing cards.
We all know the story : the reviewers and opinion makers got special cherry picked cards and peeps hope /think they ll ge the same.:D

But they/ mostly / will not... That is called the marketing strategy .

Yep, my 780 Classy was nothing special. ~1200Mhz max.
ASIC was ~70% IIRC.

Owner of a pair 780 Classifieds here, which both do 1400/1900+ on air. Both ASIC qualities are in the 80's. Read into that what you will.

My Classy hit 1200/1700 max. Seems you won the silicon lottery twice :p
EDIT: It was stable at 1750 mem but would artifact.

Lol matt.:D

Nobody is forced to buy these top end cards. If you deem them too extortionate, look elsewhere.

Fixed that for you greg, not everyone 'can't afford them', choosing not to pay a considerable sum of monies for a very small amount of extra performance-especially in this case as the return is tiny for what can be had for a whole lot less from other Nvidia offerings.

Technically they ain't the top end.(Kingpin being cream of the crop) its not question of money its the fact they are labelled as top tier cards and yet mostly joe public get cards that are underwhelming interms of overclocking.

i wouldn't mind paying for a evga classy ti that would hit 1300mhz+ on stock volts.
Any lower and i'd not be very happy chappy :).

You did, next time you might want to be more clear on what you are trying to say.:p

Remember all the 290 photoshops Greg would spam over and over? Bah Humbug indeed i think as that photoshop i posted was brilliant. :p

Yep, googles even in on it now...

.....
I cant possibly do a new review every time a driver changes so all is relative. Nvidia will I am sure get more perf from the Ti like AMD have from the 290X given more time to develop drivers.

Except the 290(x)'s were new cards and the 780's have been out ages and I would be surprised if nvidia can suddenly squeeze substantially more out of the ti's just with a driver change.

The main thing those results show is if you buy a 780 at £360 (the current cheapest on OC's) you are getting a great card for the money.
