"DRLs on an E60 5 Series"

Halfords
"Nah, we don't keep bulbs for DRLs, LED init"

Me
"No, it's a normal bulb"

Halfords
"Nah, LED init."

Me
"Yawn"

Go home, go online, buy two H8, 35w bulbs, choose the same Halfords store I was just in.

Bling, phone goes off to say, less than 10mins later to say they are in ready for collection....1st world problems

Arrrgh!! That is all

Anyone sometimes wish Halfords would just disappear?

Why didn't you just ask them to check their computer then, rather than going all the way home to just do the same yourself...

I don't see the problem here, you knew they were wrong so why didn't you just say " give me x of those bulbs, regardless of what you think?"

I've had halfrauds people tell me all sorts of nonsense but at the end of the day they are usually trying to help and must have to deal with some real clueless individuals

Why not just walk over to the bulb section and pick the correct ones off the shelf?

That's the thing. I asked because they weren't on the shelf in the bulb section and, as there are only ever 3 staff members (seems to be) there wasn't anyone else free to ask. Just venting

Problem is halfords will employ any old berk regardless of their specialist knowledge cars bikes etc

Surely people's ability to interact socially hasn't deteriorated to quite that extent?

There was no one else available or free to ask, and the guy I was speaking to said they didnt have them. I didn't have my phone on me to immediately look up and say "look, they are in stock". Kinda wish I had though

So it wasn't really anything to do with LEDs etc. it was because he told you they didn't have any H8s in stock.

Because the "bulb booker" you seem to assume is some sort of bulb bible. Instead, it listed "501" for side light which was some tiny little bulb, and under DRL it listed -----

The guy in the shop was adamant that my DRL was an LED (which it isn't) and was therefore certain they didn't have them in stock.

There were no H8 35w bulbs on the shelf, they ended up being behind the parts counter. Goodness knows why

I went to the Bromley common one last month to buy a new fuse for my headlight washers at 19:50 on a Thursday to here the guy mutter to himself as I entered just before he could lock the door. Needless to say I wasn't in a rush even if all the spotty teenagers were glaring at me.
