mega storms uk next week

The next door neighbour to my in-laws old Porsche Boxster was crushed by a tree falling from the in-laws garden into his - just where his car was parked on his lawn.

My mother in law saw this and knocked on the door where he said she might have to pay some of his excess? Does this sound on to you guys? I am not sure where the law lies on something like this?

If the tree was in the in-laws property and fell and hit something outside their property, the In laws were responsible on their home insurance to pay for the damage.

Act of god and unless the tree was in a dangerous condition prior to the storm they should tell him to do one.

He's clearly intending to claim off his car insurance anyone else why the reference to paying his excess.

As much as one would wish to gloat about not having such a bad time in the north-easterly part of the UK, we will be getting a bad winter regardless no doubt.

yea just normal 30-40mph gusts up here although yesterday I was out on my bike and for about 10 minutes the skies went dead dark , the temperature dropped loads and it hammered it for for 5minutes lol

my hands went from being warm to freezing then were fine again about 2 miles later :S
might not have been anything to do with the storm but was freaky weather

My thoughts entirely! I would perhaps feel different if it fell into the lane and damaged a car parked there, but for some reason he parks his car all over his back garden and this time it was 30m from his driveway, next to my in-laws fence, under a big tree!

Up in the NE of the country, had a fairly rapid and ferocious thunder and lightning storm this evening. Don't think I've seen that in November before.

Was just woken by the loudest and most prolonged thunder I've ever heard immediately followed by a savage hail storm but seems to have exhausted itself in all of 5 minutes, wind is persistant but I'd estimate 40mph ish. (I'm down in the south west).
