Buying an iPad in Malaysia?

I'm currently travelling around and an iPad in KL Is roughly £475 for 128gb

If I buy one here and come back with it, what import tax am I subject to and does the standard warranty work in the uk still?

Post the box back home and don't worry about the import tax. Apple warranty is world wide I believe.

Unless it's cellular then you may not be able to get any hardware repairs in the UK, wifi though should be fine.

Nope.

It's exactly the same model as sold in UK.

So I could get the 4g version and buy a sim back home?

Wish I had th cash available I'd get the MBP retina 13" big boy one with 16gb ram 512gb hdd and 512gfx for £1250

For the new iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina display, yes.

£550 for the 4g version or £480 for wifi hmmmm I can't decide
