Motoring Moments.

Hey lets take this dark unlit country lane in the middle of winter flat out...

Oh, I seem to be in the ditch.
Get out, get out, there's water coming in the door!!!

Loads of moments but a few stand out in my old Rover turbo as that was good fun. A 400hp skyline asking wtf was in my Rover turbo after a spirited M40 drive. Chasing a CSL around donington in my Rover turbo.

Highlight was driving an Aventador around Imola, best bit was the only instructor was the guy driving the Gallardo in front.

Passenger ride in a WRC car driven by Thiery Neuvelle was definatly the best passenger ride I've had!

Overtaking a somewhat startled and bemused guy on a new Triumph Tiger Sport, pinned it to its 135mph top speed, in my old '96 Jaguar XJ.

Going to have to think about this a bit more though. Interesting topic! :)

Passenger ride around Thruxton in a Astra VXR driven by BTCC driver Andrew Jordan was pretty good, especially when he stopped talking mid-conversation and then chuckled "nearly lost it there" after some sideways action.

Tom Onslo-Cole showing driving me round a track properly and driving my DC2 flat out through the deserted Scottish Highlands for days on end

So many moments...

A "watch this" moment in a nackered works transit with a seriously nackered lower engine mount. Pulled away hard in first and slapped it into second expecting the amusing bang crunch sound, ended up scattering the gearbox and a driveshaft across a junction next to the M25 in Enfield.

Manage to convince my boss "it just happened"...

Jesus did you write off/prang every car you owned?

I seem to recall PMKeates telling a story at a southern meet about how he wasn't sure the car he had just rolled was going to be written off, so jumped on and dented every panel for good measure. It was a good story :D

Having a play with a mk7 Zetec S which was damn quick and took me by surprise over a series of dual-carriageways and roundabouts, gave each other a thumbs up before parting ways at the end.
Having an A3 stuck on my arse for ages so booted away from him, pulled up at the next set of lights and his window goes down, asks me what kind of power is in my car and throws a few compliments about it my way.

Both of these had me grinning for hours after :)

Driving through the smokey mountains in the US. Absolutely stunning, especially at the top with this strange tiny isolated rain shower.

The mountains proceeded to live up to their name when my rented Chrysler 300's brakes decided to overheat on the 30-40 minute downward drive (granted I was going a little quick).

Managed to find somewhere to pull over, got out to check them and had never smelt anything so horrid in a long time! Luckily they were fine and I hadn't done any permanent damage.

Think my favourite driving moment so far has to be burning a 3series away from a set of traffic lights in a dagdag corsa on one of my driving lessons... instructor and I both had a massive grin on our face :D

Driving up the M40 in a Vectra hire car with my now wife.

Late at night, been chucking it down, doing over 80mph in the outside lane.

Road started to curve to the right and suddenly hit a patch of standing water.

The car aquaplaned and the entire vehicle shifted to the left about half a lane.
She didn't even wake up, but about 10 seconds after the event I started sweating realising what just happened and what could have happened.
