I've decided on most things for my WC setup except the front 360 rad size.

So the case is the Corsair Carbide Air 540.

The roof rad is a 45mm thick 240mm rad (XT45 copper rad)

The two options for the front 360 rad
  • 60mm thick rad (fans mounted outside - no dust filter)
  • 40mm thick rad (fans mounted inside - with dust filter)
  • 30mm thick rad (reduces room taken up)

Really how much difference in performance can there be?

Anyone with a 30mm rad that can recommend using it?

Low fin density thick radiators will perform on par with high fin thin ones. In the 540, i would grab thinner ones for more GPU clearance.

Buying today is a no brainer. The EK PE radiators are incredibly similar to design to the premium AX xspc radiators but at a cheaper price. They are also at the 40mm mark, so you can mount stuff inside.

GPU clearance is fine with even 60mm rad.

I'm going for the alphacool Nexxoss full(ish) cooper rads. XT45 240 in roof and either UT60 or or XT45 or ST30 360 rad infront. Cant decide on best config, ideal one is the thinner ST30 (30mm) but at what cost in performance...

This doesn't really help but I went for 2 240mm x 60mm both with the fans on the inside if the case. Have a look in my build log below.
I believe they both have around 8fpi

Very nice build! I'm more inclined to go for the 360 in front, looks nicer and should perform really well (probably similar to your 60mm 240) but like I say i like the look of the 360. Thanks for pointing me to your log, more logs i see the better decisions i can make :)

Yeah that's cool. The one thing I'd point out and is that my top 240 is mounted slightly forward of where it should be to clear the rear AF fan, if you mount yours right at the back to clear the 360 with the fans inside the case it could be close!

Give me a shout if you want any measurements or close ups :)

So basically the only way I can mount 3 fans inside with the 240 roof rad is if the 360 rad is 40mm or less. And since I want to get both rads alphacool (full cooper) rads, that means 30mm rad. Or go all out 60mm and fans mounted outside.

Thanks I will if i change my mind, which I keep doing, but for now I think my measurements are pretty correct based on the several build logs i've seen.

TBH the PE EK ones which are 40mm outperform most if into all radiators in their price bracket and thickness. They seem ideal in a situation like this, my 540 wcing build is in my sig if you want a few ideas. I am using the old EK rads, as i had a few spare, so the ones in my log are 47mm thick rather than 40mm.
