Motoring Moments.

I think porsche were/are the only ones that dont limit. I dont really know why they bother anyway tbh im sure not many will have much more grunt to go faster.

R8 will do 190+.

Motoring moment: Attempted to copy and do this in my mini but didn't risk leaving it lol:

My mate used to have a classic mini and I went with him to a local meet. Then we all went on a drive so there was like 30 classic minis going along country roads and then through a village and everyone was waving. It was like some jeremy clarkson style 'britain is brilliant' thing like he did with the e-type/eagle speedster. Was epic. :D

Also had a passenger ride on public roads in an early 80s 911 SC rally car belonging to Adrian Kermode. The noise was incredible, it was so raw and pure and it was brilliant over taking other people and seeing their faces! :D:cool:

There's various reasons for a 155 MPH limiter:

- 'General understanding' to limit to 250 KPH
- Can use W/Y speed rated tyres (i.e. lower than theoretical top speed)
- Don't have to beef up the brakes/suspension so much - many are 'designed' to 250 KPH rather than their theoretical top speed. The forces and energy involved are going up at a faster rate than the speed is.
- Probably more I can't think of

There's many exceptions to this i.e. Audi/BMW/Mercedes/etc. offer 'options' that increase the limiter on the regular, usually to 186 MPH / 300 KPH, don't employ it on special models etc. Many brands don't enforce the limit in the any way. It's not compulsory.

155mph limit was due to the Green Party's influence in Germany when it was created; all about tolerance of speed on the autobahn and pollution.

Going through north wales tunnels with sxoc, there was about 10 200's a mr2 and a r33 in a convoy.

Was epic!

Also when i was in the s14 for a cruise with a pal in his s15 and we had a bit of a hoon with a focus RS. Was fantastic.

Blowing a Corsa chav edition (big bore, fat tyres, stereo worth more than the car) at a set of lights in a Scania HGV, yes, he was trying, I had 620bhp and mega torques!!! :D

I used to do that in a bobtail 325 ERF

When bobtail you can pull away in 3rd&1st - ie: 3rd gear 1st split (Eaton Twin SplitterTrans)

Didn't really matter what car really. They initially pull away ahead from standing but as the clutch comes out you go....

I even upset someone so much away from Brentfield Road lights (in London) that they reported me for no LBTS plates (I only used to carry empy plastic ketchup bottles to Heinz). My boss got a £1000 fine and had to pay my fine too.

What's even sillier is they had the plates in the workshop but hadn't fitted them !!

My first rear-end 90 degree slide after turning off some traffic lights in CA on the morning commute.

A 2000 Viper SRT10 attempting to compete with my exhaust sound and racing all of 10m in CA I-280 rolling traffic.

Utter disgust when an old woman in a Kia Optima without her glasses on cut a corner into the front of me stopped at a stop sign.

Scaring my 7 passengers when I entered a circular freeway off-ramp at 60mph in a Ford Expedition.
