The far north (Kurdistan) is way more stable?

Mosul has been an Al Qaeda hotspot since forever, almost ended up driving though it which was one of the scariest moments of my life.

I'm not surprised Fallujah has fallen, it is the the first step towards inevitable Shia/Sunni civil war, I just hope the Kurdish maintain their border otherwise oil prices will jump.

Sunni (and a million other interested parties) are the ones kicking off in Syria at the moment.

Some shocking torture videos being posted from both sides, these people are animals.

There are people who are animals claiming every religion under the sun, even atheism (chinese police in tibet).

I wasn't making a comment on the religion (who can keep track of who they all are anyway), just the people involved

Sorry misinterpreted :).

Religion is an important issue in this example though as the conflict in southern (non-kurdish) Iraq is mainly Sunni vs. Shia.

To be honest I find it crazy that the subtleties between Christianity/Judaism/Islam lead to wars let alone the differences between sects.

Iraqis now live and will live a lot better than under Hussein, they have democracy.

The word alone, builds schools/hospitals/roads, feeds people and provides them with non-corrupt government in which people decide what their government does...

I;d agree that the Kurds are living better but the situation in Baghdad and the south is way more complex. They've gone from an almost stable dictatorship to unstable democracy.

Whilst I agree that in the grand scheme of things their current situation is better, the average Iraqi living their day to day may feel otherwise. Which fuels the collapse.

I don't think they will have a choice between lib/lab/con, the choice is Nutjob A and Nutjob B, both of which you can rely on to outdo each other for corruption and nepotism.
Not to mention the majority is Shia so that is always going to leave a ****ed off Sunni minority.

Complete mess its been over 10 years since the invasion of Iraq and the Iraqis are much worse off than before the war. wtf have we doing there for past decade!? and why are bush and Blair not facing war crimes for this catastrophe....

People seemed to have completely missed that this was posted in a sarcastic/ironic way. :p:p

Didn't we leave a few years ago?

Yes we did.
The OP is getting his countries mixed up.

The British government then gradually reduced the number of troops in Iraq until May 22, 2011 when all the remaining British troops left Iraq after the Iraqi government rejected their request to stay and to extend their mission.

So it won't be any worse when we leave, its already worse ;)
