Is my N800 dead?

I've had my N800 for a number of years and recently decided to use it again for my car as a media player. I left if idle for what I can guess is two years which obviously wasn't a good idea. I remember randomly turning it on about 6 months ago and it worked with the battery having very little charge left. I should've charged it then but I didn't.

Now I'm attempting to charge it but it appears not too. The screen comes on displaying the Nokia logo and then turns off. I've left it overnight but it's still the same. Thinking the battery has had it I've ordered a new one. I've left it for 8+ hours to charge but it's still the same. I don't think it's even charging the battery at all. I'm guessing it's had it?
 
I had an old HTC that if it got too dead, the only way to charge it was to pop the battery out and directly hook it up to an old Nokia charger I'd cut the plug off for a while.

If you live anywhere near Southampton I'll give you a working N800.
 
Sounds crazy but I'd leave it plugged in for a couple of days and see if it springs into life :)

Will try that but after 24 hours it doesn't look very promising.

Was thinking of trying this but something tells me I'll just end up wasting a charger when I find it don't work. Don't suppose it matters now though so might do it as a last resort.

I'm at the other end in Northampton. :p Thanks for the offer though. Guess they've devalued into nothing now?
 
If you're OK with delivering it then sure. I can send postage costs via Paypal if that's OK or maybe even gift a game over Steam of equivalent value if you have it.
 
It is one of these you want? I was only thinking the other day it's be a shame to throw it out. I haven't used it in years, so if you can get some use out of it then great, it's yours!

How am I going to get your address, is there a PM system? I'll post it then you can send me the money when I know how much it costs.

No stylus, I chewed the hell out of it anyway.
