We're on EE at the minute and the brightbox router's wifi isn't great so we're looking at getting a new router to try and get a better signal.

Would it be possible to get the rt-n66u and connect it to one of the ethernet ports on the brightbox and use it for wifi instead of the brightbox wifi? This would also mean I wouldn't need a new router if we got fiber?

If that wouldn't work which of the other 2 would be best?

Thanks

We're on adsl at the minute so it would need a modem built in unless I could use the brightbox we got from orange as a modem only? Although that seems like a bit of hassle.

What about the routers like the dsl-n66u or the netgear d6200 do they support both fibre and adsl? Also is the 5ghz ac much better than n?

N66u is brand new, hadn't heard of it before you'd mentioned it.

Looks like a step up from the old model.

Edit. Having read a few reviews of the 66, I'd steer clear until the firmware has matured. Sadly Asus have a track record for doing this; releasing products and letting the end user be their testing cannon fodder.

Eh?

I've owned a n66u for the past year, it's not brand new? :p
