Sli 780ti classified and black screen

it begs the question why the card was released if EVGA knew there was a problem with the bios
A Normal Business way of doing things I guess..

As long they can get the cash flowing in they happy and they worries about fixing any problems later

Ship the card befoe Christmas so everyone gets their Xmas pressie or delay and fix? I would have been unhappier about a delay over Christmas, considering sky hacked together a fix anyway....

Pretty spot on for my thinking as well. I would rather have the card working on stock, than not have the card because of overclocking problems. And I am more than happy to flash at every available opportunity. I am also happy to flash GPU's ::D

I agree with getting my cards before Xmas etc and running at stock but surely an official evga fix should have been out by now Or is it a bigger overall problem

Agreed Delpy and not acceptable. Jump on the EVGA thread here and ask Dominic for an update. He is a good guy :)

Surely someone else has asked already? But I suppose the more people that ask. We might get a response quicker

Answer:

Dear Derek, which BIOS fix do you exactly mean? Regards,

Question:

Hi Guys,

Any ideas when you will be releasing the BIOS fix for the classified 780ti

Thanks

Derek

LOL.

That implies one of two things. BIOS fix? We don't have a BIOS fix? Which one, pick a few.

I've not really looked but I'm fairly sure there are plenty of 3rd party fixes floating about. Skyn3t etc

Guys if I am honest which I am!!! The problem is NVIDIA and limiting peoples Overclocking / Overvolting. The Black screen is OCP/OVP as in the card has shut down totally due to trying to overvolt / over clock "too far" in NVIDIA's opinion. You will see this if you attach a volt meter to the card and up the volts!!!

So essentially even on the Classy it's the same as the ref cards - bin the stock BIOS? Although I'm not sure the BIOS has control of OVP?

Lol that's my thinking but I'm surprised as EVGA Jacob quoted saying" we know how to fix it but we ran into a roadblock with releasing it "

Hi 8 Pack so if that is the case the Kingpin edition will be the same My thought was these two variant's where for the overclocking enthusiasts out there

Seems to be a lot of complaints about coil whine too. All 3 of my EVGA ref cards have it but can't hear it with the case panel on. Really surprised how many people send cards back for it, it's a waste of time. Expect better from Classy owners :D.

Hope you get it fixed bud, it is weird however that it's kicking in with only an additional 60mhz on the core. Have you explained the symptoms to EVGA?

Yip I have let evga know +60 is stable but anything over that and it's black screens

No the King Pin is fully unlocked for sure Vince has assured me of this himself.

Its in the driver now for Ti. Its a lot hotter than 780 and draws a lot more current. More than Titan. Titan PWM often goes boom at 1.325+ V so go figure. Nvidia dont want returns.
