Hi guys,

I'm replacing a slightly dodgy closed-loop CPU cooling system with a custom loop and have the following saved in my OcUK basket:

Can anyone let me know if these bits are all compatible? And also you'll notice that I haven't added any fittings.

I need to know how many fittings I need, and also what size will be compatible with this hardware. Would like all black or blue to fit with my rigs colour scheme.

2 quick things;

1)Get the dcp 4.o instead much better and quieter pump and also get the supremacy waterblock much higher flow and just better in all aspects or get the xspc cpu block comes with blue leds and is black so suites your scheme.

2) What case is this going in? Sorry if I'm being blind just cant see it mentioned.

1) Thanks for the recommendation :)

2) Its going in an Aerocool QS 202 case (was on a bit of a budget haha), hence the single 120mm setup. I do have enough room to have 2 fans in push/pull though (will be 2x Corsair SP120's)

3) Liking the look of the fittings, I was originally thinking of transparent tubing, and using Mayhems pastel coolant (blueberry)... I've heard a couple of people say its best to go with coloured tubing as opposed to fancy coolant, but I think the Mayhems looks so much cooler :( any thoughts on this??
 
Honestly mayhems looks much better to me. However I'm guilty of using colored tubing because mines just for performance rather than looks. Means I dont have to worry about swapping tubes if they become stained. (xspc black tube for me).

At least with mayhems you can chose how dark you want it if you use their dyes.
 
If you are on a budget, scrap push/pull and do push. The gain is minimal and with good enough fans in the first place, the difference would be negligible.

Is this cooling for your fx4300?

The loop will likely end up costing about twice the cost of your CPU, so i dont know if you want to consider a 6300 or 8320 and air cooling or a refurbished AIO, as the performance boost in games will be huge.

As for tubing, i suggest using Primochill with mayhems. I almost always use Mayhems coolants and have found Primochill the easiest tubing to look after. Acrylic does not discolour and is not any more expensive though, so you might want to consider that. It is also far more permanent, as you can give it a scrub every time you want to clean the loop, and then re-use it.

Aah Avenged7Fold, I am not worthy! (Yes I have been stalking your threads)

I know it's a pretty low-end CPU, I'm running BF4 at Ultra at the minute, which is keeping me happy.

I would like to upgrade my CPU cooling as a bit of fun! I've also been dying for an excuse to buy some EK parts, and now I have one.

I shall dig through OcUK for some Primochill, although I'm not sure I have the skills to deal with solid acrylic tubing at this stage!

I am sure you probably only stalked the few good threads out of the hundreds i spam.

As for changing the CPU, at least watercooling is pretty flexible when it comes to upgrading, so if you take mynights advice on the Supremacy, it comes with every socket bracket, so you can always upgrade later when you decide it doesn't have the grunt you need and you wont have to buy any additional parts to move the loop over to another socket.

In fact the Supremacy doesn't just have loads of socket mounts available but a number of different plexi tops available from EK if you want to change them because the thread was worn away or just because you want a different look. I replaced all of my EK blocks with a clean plexi top after they released them, though i still like the CSQ design.

As far as WCing brands go, EK have impressed me the most. I don't think they are much better than the rest in terms of quality but any problems they have had previously were dealt with well (like the electroplating stuff a few years back). EK has quality compressions and acrylic fittings for about as cheap as they come and its not just the fittings which are premium quality for non premium pricing, but their other parts like the new PE rads or their 4.0 EK pump. The EK PE radiators come in at entry level EK prices but have the same quality and fin design as the AX series XSPC radiators, making them some of the best performing slim rads. The 4.0 pump previously mentioned might not be a 1200lph D5 but it still has a flow of 800lph with a much better head and at half the price of a D5 and pump top!

Dont sell yourself short I learnt a lot from reading your posts.

Very good point on the supremacy I forgot about all the backplates/mountings it gives. Forget the xspc ray storm block its on par with the ek but doesn't look as good on amd chips.

The 4.0 was honestly my favorite pump happily powered my old system of 3x7850 and a amd 955be. Lovely and quiet as well once you take vibration out of the equation. Recommend a "shoggy" or similar foam decoupling device. I ended up using the foam packaging the ek block came in. Then put a layer of decorators caulk underneath.

( I will add dont try and run it off a mobo fan header. Learnt the hard way :()
