Stopping Smoking - NHS help?

5 months is nothing.

In b4 vaping retards.

Just stop smoking. I did after 10 years. You don't need iron will. Just stop buying them, then poncing them.

I still get cravings and urges but cope somehow...

Since I split with my GF (who I thought I was going to marry) way way back in August, I started smoking due to the uncontrollable anxiety and stress of it all.

Now I want to give it up, and I am wondering if the NHS provides gum and nicotine patches, or do you have to purchase these?

thanks.

Why should the NHS give you stuff to help you stop? They didn't help you start.

Pay for your own. No wonder the NHS is going down hill.

Because it's of net benefit for the NHS to give a small outgoing on assisting a quitter in order to avoid footing the bill for costly, and lengthy, treatments due to SRIs in the future.

It's a specific service they provide.

Yup, think of it as damage limitation.

If I can give up smoking after 20 years then ANYBODY can give up.

And I was addicted to it badly!

If you want to give up then do it.....half quitters use therapy/alternatives real quitters go cold turkey.

Sorry how much do smokers pay in tax every year? I'm sure the NHS can stump up a bit of cash to help them quit.

The NHS is going downhill because the conservatives want to trash it, tell us it isn't working and privatize it for a quick buck.
