Will a gtx 770 be enough?

I haven't played games for a while and have a bit of a window with more free time coming up.

Will an upgrade of the graphics card alone be enough to get good frame rates on very high quality settings in battlefield and the new COD?

What do you think? for 1920 x 1200 gaming?

In the end I went with a gtx 780 but it has two 8 pin pcie input sockets and my psu only has one 6 and one 8 plug.

The psu is a 750 watt zalman zm750hp which should have a fair bit of headroom.

I understand that 6 pin output is 75 the and 8 is 150 so with the 150 from the slot I should have 375 watts available with a 6 and an 8.

I am not going to be over clocking much if at all.

Will the card boot like this or can it detect that it has only a 6 pin in one socket?

If not then is there some sort of bodge cable I can buy that can take power off one of the other rails? And turn the 6 into an 8?
