Terrible news - Hh60 crews are hero's in afghanistan. everytime one comes in you remember they would come for you too
The helicopter came down at 18:00 GMT and a spokesman said the first unit arrived at the scene at 19:53 GMT.
Suzanne McKnespiey, who runs Cookies Crab Shop, in nearby Salthouse, said she heard the sound of a low aircraft overhead between 18:30 and 19:00.
And then....
Am I being particularly dim tonight, or does none of that add up?
Perhaps what she heard and saw was a helo tasked to investigate the downed helo's mayday or the report of it going down."I quickly looked out of the window and it was a helicopter," she said.
"It was low and very loud. It flew overhead and out towards the sea, going very fast.
"We're used to hearing helicopters here but not that low."
I was rather amused to see in the daily fail, the comments by people blaming the MOD for flying 'old' equipment that is 'ready to fall out of the sky' rather than buy new.. Even though the helicopter in question is part of the 48th fighter wing, and nothing to do with the MOD at all..
Just goes to show, for all their bluster, daily fail readers, really don't have a brain cell between them.
and the fact the the pave hawk is new tech to replace old tech ie the black hawk.
seriously can we not do something about the daily fail its getting a bit too much recently.
