***The Official Battlefield 4 Thread***

Played a few games tonight and won most of them. Managed to run 4 people over in a jeep in the same match. Much lols from me.

In a game with Lord Biron tonight.

Lord Biron: "have you got a stinger?"
Me: "I can do, why?"
Lord Biron: "because there is this little bird flying around"

My favourite vehicle is definitely the Lav. I can beat most other vehicles in it and give the tank a run for its money. Best set up is armour piercing rounds and the zuni rockets to defeat infantry. Add reactive armour and autoloader and you're laughing. It helps ten fold with a good gunner partner who can
spot and shoot people.

Still not got to grips with jets, very hard to really hit anything as I find I always fly too fast. Much improved controlling helos though.

Even though there were only 2 of us I quite enjoyed it last night. Apart from that game on Operation Locker. What a horrible map for Conquest!

Much improved controlling helos though.

I've gotten pretty good at flying choppers. I can kind-of hover above flags to capture them. My main gripe is still the fact that the mini guns are incredibly weak and I tend to get shot down after about 20 seconds.

Capping flags will be the best way to unlock things for the choppers. I am trying to get the 25mm Cannons for the Little Bird as there will be more splash damage for taking out ground troops easier. The only problem with capping flags is leaving yourself open for a well placed RPG.

I will add some of the PS4 players in this thread. Feel free to do the same :)
 
I played through the single player from start to finish on hard yesterday, it was quite good, but i need to repeat the last level twice more for all the gun unlocks...

You need to be aware of a couple of things

1) Jets and mobile AA have "active radar" missiles which will fly, and then find a target automatically by themselves. They require no lock on from the person shooting at you. Once they get near you, they lock onto you and change trajectory. But this time is usually miniscule leaving you with less than a second to react before it slams into you. Highly annoying and very unbalanced

2) Once somebody fires a hand held AA launcher, and you flare, providing the missile hasn't hit somebody, they can re-lock onto you after you've flared and get the missile to hit you again, this time when you have no flares.

Alternatively they can reload and fire another one quicker than you can fire your flares again.

The key with choppers is fast strafing runs in and out of cover. Unless you have a hill or building to go hide behind out of sight then you're gonna die.

Its why its only really worth playing attack choppers on maps like siege of shanghai and dawnbreaker.
 
Capping flags on choppers is like playing russian roulette, so easy to land an rpg on u and 1 shot, has happened lots of times to me.

Stinger is the best weapon vs choppers almost instant reloading very easy to kill them,
I got 5 stingers off on a chopper in about 30 seconds he had mechanics on board but still got him.

25mm cannons are the best option imo, the normal guns dont dmg heavy vehicles and are very weak against infantry.

If u are getting chased fly towards ur mobile AA, u can counter him pretty easily if he follows all the way towards ur half of the map.

I want to get better with the attack jet it seems quite op imo as only another jet or mobile AA can really take u down. I struggle to get kills as it just flies so fast and takes quite a while to reposition urself again.
 
Good tip with the jets is to use the brake

Providing your in a straight line and can coast safely, you can almost stall and still get going again afterwards. Makes hitting targets much easier

Also, another technique is to fly high, then spot your targets as you descent, hit the brakes to descend as slowly as possible and hit your targets from right on top.

Brake is the left analog pulling it back ye? Ye i think im flying to low thats probably the problem.

Yea that's what I am using. Was so confused when I first tried to fly. Veteran, as you said is much easier to use. Look around is sacrificed which I can live with.
 
Played MP last night for a little while, maaaaannn I suck so bad, been ages since I played FPS. Was getting my a** handed to me last night so many times.

What do you guys have your sensitivity set to? Mine is at 50% which is fast enough IMO.

Will try and be on this more tonight. (damn you AC Black Flag lol)
 
Just finished the single player mode, story was all over the place but it was enjoyable if a little short. Just need to mop up the remaining achievements now. :)

sure does , first time I played BF4 in a squad with you guys on here , makes the game so much more fun.

Hopefully will be on sometime over the weekend for some more if anyone is up for it.
