corsair 240mm aio!

Not bad nice to see a thicker rad.

Still wish they had brought out a 140mm version of the SP120 as CES as it was rumored.

Can't bring my self to put Noctua fans in my case, the colors just don't match anything and looking to upgrade to the fathom cooler with a 280mm rad.

It's also on here available to pre-order, I noticed it the other day. I was kind of gutted as I just built my new system up over xmas using a H100i.

It would've been brilliant if they bought this out sooner, kraken x60 beat them to the race.

But its corsair so it'll definitely sell that is for sure!

Is the thickness going to help it all that much? I always thought that the combined pump/block was the bottleneck.

I wouldn't call it a bottleneck but you are certainly right on the block/pump being the main thing that is holding these AIOs back. At the prices of some of the high end AIO units, you would think that they would use better pumps or blocks for better heat transfer or reliability/expandability. It isn't like the standard slim 240mm rad isn't enough for a single CPU, so increasing the rad size wont help all that much compare to the block, especially if you cant even expand this loop.

Making an expandable AIO with a decent block (even an entry level custom one like a supreme) and a half decent pump attached to it like a small but fairly powerful DCC, would bridge the gap between AIOs and custom enough for many people to take the plunge. We would likely see a lot less pump failures from hxxi series if the pump had a bit more grunt and if the block transferred heat to the water better, as i cant imagine having a pump (which can run fairly warmish on its own) attached directly to a inefficient (compared to custom) block, can be good for its life expectancy.
