Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

lol it's COD with mechs, it's 2014 not 2005. Here we are on next gen and PC with 6v6 and bots, it's fail. Who's asking for 50v50? 12v12 would have been better but 6v6 lol.

Depends on the size of the maps. You can't say it's failed when you haven't even played it, but somehow you know that 6v6 is "fail" but 12v12 is perfect?

Take your sense elsewhere. Here, kneejerk reactions and predictions without mitigating evidence rules.

It's the game type that makes this the case, s&d/objective modes have been forgotten, when you get one life a go it makes you play slower and the game is more fun. its all basically deathmatch with an obj now, run and gun, which is a shame.

I expect it will be pretty slick and good, they did make mohaa, cod 1/2/4, great games and I was looking forward to it as a good online fps.

6v6 is perfect for clan matches but typically they have been one life per round and that doesn't seem to fit into this game and im not sure any clan/competitive talk has been spoken about this at all, although you would hope as that's where there player base was when they made the above very successful games.

and when you played mohaa/cods on public servers you wanted them somewhere between 18-32 players for lots of action and practice.

Bit of a shame really, seems very console like with such low mp numbers which is always where pc has been great. Will wait for reviews now as I was going to do before, time will tell.

im not sure about this one. specially since i heard about the 6v6. i think it will either be too empty or every one crammed into a small map. not good for people who play with a lot of friends either.

i'll wait and see i think with this one. looks great though i have to admit.

Looks pretty good tbh.

Might well be interested in this after I get a chance to digest some reviews.

Sounds like it's trying to piggyback onto the brand that was given to Blizzard's "unannounced" next-gen-mmo "Titan". Maybe, fair play I guess.

I like this guys opinion :)
6v6 not a problem.

He makes a lot of very good points. Most importantly is the one where he explains that you need the bots to make up the infantry because only the players will be able to call down and play the Titans. If you don't allow players to pilot the Titans, players will leave the game until they find a server where they can.

I think that making Titanfall balanced is quite tricky, because maps that are suitable for the size of Titans are not suitable for the infantry. Hence the need for the fast vertical movement a-la-tribes, and limiting to twelve human players, all of whom can be piloting Titans.

Just look at the gameplay movies to see how 6v6 + bots is really, really busy, and then imagine all that doubled. Unless you want to spend more time respawning, dying, and getting to the action rather than actually playing, then maybe we should take the developer's word that 6v6 + bots is the optimum team size.

And of course, smaller team sizes mean you're more likely to get enough people to play a good game, and be perfectly sized for the maps.

it could be great it could be bad i cant make my mind up.

6v6 is fine if maps are good and well thought out.

Good new imo. By far the best fps experiences I've had have been in RTCW/ET/CoD/TFC/TF2 in organised scrims and matches. All were 6vs6 or less. Tight maps and teamplay - I'll take this all day long over the chaotic randomness and spam of BF/BC/CoD.

Its the lack of dedicated servers that means its a no for me. Its a shame cause it looked ok but goes to show you can take the dev out of IW but you cant take IW out of the dev. Its MW2 all over again, I would'nt be suprised if they didn't call it EAnet, it's probably 6v6 because its P2P again.

That's bad. No serious FPS should be without dedicated servers.

They are actually MS controlled "cloud" servers but it will be "rooms" you cant host or rent a server, its the console brought to PC in horrific fashion. How you would scrim on it I have no idea.
