Dual Classified vs WindForce

I'm going to order my rig on Friday and was pretty set on getting the EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti Dual Classified Graphics Card.

Now that the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780Ti WindForce went on a pretty massive sale I am starting to reconsider.

Just wonderig if there is any reason why I shouldn't take the £80 savings I can get with the WindForce. Is there a significant performance difference?

I also intend to get another one later in the year, if that changes anything.

Here is the full rig.

Not sure on the performance but the windforce is a lot quieter, had a 580 classified card before my 670 windforce, damn thing would take of in some games where as my 670 is so quiet.

WindForce is a really good cooler but the classified edge it on average attainable overclocks if your really pushing for a big clock.

I don't see a reason to pay the extra £80 for the Classified. Isn't guaranteed to overclock better, has a worse cooler and you have to send it to Germany for RMA.

What makes you think the Classified cooler is worst ??
As it should be a fair bit better then the WF cooler as it is a much bigger heatsink..

The WF3 is rated for removable of 450watt of heat, not sure what the classified's is but the WF3 is pretty high (a lot of GPUs only have cooling rated for around 200watt).

Well my 780 Classy ran hotter than the Windforce did in the reviews I've seen and it was one of the louder non-reference cards I've used.

This is the only review I could find that compares the two. I guess they're pretty similar.

The Classy as a great cooler which keeps the card cool and quiet. Copes when i'm benching no probs.

Yep I suppose so. My 4770k is a waste of time too :o

For OP: be aware that RMA or Step up with EVGA can take a long time. Not because of EVGA themselves, but due to postage to Germany. It's been over 3 weeks since I posted my classy to EVGA for step up and they've only just got it. Their support is pretty great, though.

Can't comment on the step up plan, but can on there RMA service. RMA'd a 780SC which I bought off the MM. Total turn around from start to finish was 8 days.
